As a world leader in the production and use of renewable energy, Canada recognizes the power of international partnership to accelerate the global transition to a low-carbon economy. The Minister of Natural Resources, Amarjeet Sohi, today announced that Canada has officially become a member of the International Renewable EnergyAgency (IRENA), joining 159 countries in an intergovernmental organization devoted to providing clean, sustainable energy for the world’s growing population… by Natural Resources Canada.

ROCHESTER — A Canadian waste-to-ethanol company is looking for its first U.S. location, and the SouthCoast is on the list of possibilities. Montreal-based Enerkem confirmed to The Standard-Times in a recent interview that it has been speaking with local officials and with waste hauler ABC Disposal about using material generated by ABC’s new trash and recycling facility, which is located on Route 28 in Rochester… by Jennette Barnes.
